Volvo Ocean Race leaders slow
In the Volvo Ocean Race, the fleet are in the thick of the Indian Ocean doldrums. From Team Russia, Mark Covell sends his latest missive. Following on from part one yesterday, so today we continue our look at the world's fastest offshore race boat - Pascal Bidgorry's Banque Populaire maxi-tri. In the Vendee Globe it is still not clear how the leaders will tackle the area of high pressure between them and the Southern Ocean. Having arrived in Recife, Delta Dore has officially retired. Following the announcement of the Elliott 6 as the chosen weapon for women's match racing for the 2012 Games, so World no1 Claire LeRoy (above) gives her views on this decision. A new crop of boats is expected on the Rolex Sydney Hobart start line.
